“What is it… and why should I come?”
Why Messy Church: People are busy! Carving out family time together within the competing priorities of schedules is difficult. Finding time to just BE together as a family is tricky. Life is messy.
Messy Church is one evening – every month – for everyone. It’s ‘family time’, regardless of what your ‘family’ looks like. It’s a time to connect with others, share a meal, hear a Bible story and learn how it can be applied to our day-to-day lives. There are crafts for the kids (parents can help!) and fun for all (and best of all…no dishes to clean up!)
And know this: kids aren’t a prerequisite! Anyone can come. Each of us are a part of the community, and we all belong together.
Why you should come: Some people just don’t want to go to ‘church’. They don’t want the formality of church, or they don’t have the time on a Sunday morning. So, while Messy Church is very ‘un-churchy’, it remains a community we can all be a part of, and a place to grow in our faith (or even begin a faith journey). Messy Church is about worshipping God, having fellowship, and exploring matters of faith, in an easy, relaxed, and fun atmosphere.
And because it’s a church, we talk about Jesus, because, well, he’s kind of a big deal, and we want
people to get to know him.
What to expect: At 5:30pm, expect crafts and games for the kids/parents, and coffee for the adults. Around 6pm, we sit down for a great meal. Once the meal is over, everyone heads to the auditorium for music and a Bible story. Before you know it, it’s all done for another month!
It’s a fun way to strengthen family and grow our community!
